6-1/4″ x 55″ Flat Panel Newel Post. Upper area of post is 4-3/4″. Base block is 6-1/4″. The flat recessed panel is hand crafted using stile & rail construction, exactly like a custom interior door or fine furniture. Not every manufacturer uses this high quality construction technique. Many raised and flat panel posts on the market today are made by just routing out a design in the side of a standard plain post. The 4091FP post can be made special with matching upper flat panels placed between the cap and neck molding. The part number for this post is frequently called AFP-4091 (meaning Actual Flat Panel)
