Another finished project! We love how this stacked circular staircase turned out! This is a custom stacked circular stairway that makes over two full turns! The bending handrail starts at the bottom and is a continuous run all the way to the top of the 3rd flight. It also features painted poplar taper balusters with custom white oak newels, and custom white oak winder treads made to the client’s specifications. Wood Newel Posts
Wood newel posts are turned on a lathe from a hardwood square blank and then sanded smooth. All wood newel posts and wood balusters are available with the bottom square base block turned round.
Any of our wood newel post profiles can be made larger, up to 5-1/2″ wide, by custom order. Custom wood turnings, columns, and historical reproductions are available by quotation.

Wood Stair Treads
Wood stair treads are offered in a standard 1-1/32″ finished thickness after surfacing and sanding. Extra thick hardwood stair treads for open rise staircases are available in any thickness. The most popular over sized wood tread sizes are 1-3/4″ and 2″ thick. We have produced treads as thick as 4″. Any stair tread thicker than 1-3/4″ will require face glue lamination(s) to meet the desired finished dimension.
